7/27/2023 0 Comments Meeting scheduler time zone![]() ![]() It is worth the effort to have a slight idea of the different time zones found within your office. One of the simplest ways to do so is by downloading multiple clocks on your desktop that display multiple time zones. Your business can make use of tools to help avoid time zone mistakes. To help make communication easier within your business, here are four tips to help you face the issue of time zones head-on. One of the biggest challenges of scheduling meetings is communication. Tips to avoid confusion and errors when converting time zones Try to keep in mind though that not all these countries follow daylight savings, and therefore may be an hour earlier than the rest. Countries like Nicaragua, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala use CST, while Peru, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, Haiti, and Cuba work on EST, among others. This rule is also very applicable for companies or teams in South America, as many of their time zones operate similarly to the U.S. No one needs to get up at 6:00, and no one needs to stay working till 8:00. This gives your West Coast employees time to wake up and start the day, while your EST employees will be finishing their lunch breaks, ready to end the work day. This means that, at the earliest time possible, your employees on the West Coast will only need to be ready by 10-11 a.m. When dealing with teams entirely in the U.S., the rule is simple: try to schedule meetings towards the early afternoon, somewhere around 1-2 p.m. Identifying Time Zone Differences How to determine the time zone of the participants To help avoid this, here are some tips to help you schedule meeting s across time zones without breaking a sweat. What’s more, you can’t always rely on mental math to figure out the time differences.īy doing so, you’re guaranteed to make a mistake and miss meetings or waste time. But, now that your employees can work from anywhere in the world and need to schedule meetings across different time zones, it’s trickier than ever before. To be honest, scheduling meetings has never been an easy task. And working out how to schedule meetings across time zones can be a scheduler’s nightmare. In reality, a single small meeting could easily include employees from three or four different countries around the world, each with individual time zones and schedules. Hours are flexible, work locations can range across the world, and all meetings take place in a virtual space. Now that more and more businesses have moved towards remote work and hybrid workplaces, average day-to-day operations have changed greatly. ![]() 7/27/2023 0 Comments Jbl charge 5 decibels![]() ![]() ![]() The waterproof features and rugged fabric covering means it can handle a fair deal of punishment. Verdict: The JBL Charge 4 is an ideal party speaker and is just small enough to be portable and makes for a great speaker to take on holiday. However, most of us probably have more than enough USB chargers around our homes, so that’s not an issue. ![]() A USB C charging cable is included in the box but no charger. Also, there’s no carry case provided but there are plenty of after-market cases available at a reasonable price. When it comes to style, the JBL Charge 4 is available in a range of colors, including Desert Sand, Mustard Yellow, Dusty Pink, Grey Stone, River Teal, Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, Steel White, and Forest Green. ![]() JBL has listened to criticism and, I think, made a big improvement. The Charge 4 addresses both these shortcomings with a bass that’s as big as you’d expect from the larger speaker housing while the treble is more refined and clearer than that of the Charge 3. Its stablemate, the Flip 4, is great with the treble but a bit light on bass. The sound produced by the JBL Charge 4 is, in my opinion, a real improvement on its predecessor, the Charge 3, which was a bit muddy and slightly muffled in the treble department. It’s also possible to connect two smartphones to the speaker simultaneously so you can pass over playlist duty to someone else while taking a well-earned rest or freshening up your drink. Obviously, the Charge 4 plays in stereo on its own, thanks to a pair of regular speakers and two passive radiators that amplify the bass, but the size of the speaker means you’re not going to get very great stereo separation or a convincing soundstage. Alternatively, it’s possible to set-up two JBL Charge 4s as a pair of stereo speakers, each playing a mono left and right channel, in order to create a wide stereo soundstage. Any JBL speaker that supports JBL Connect+ can be invited to the party so that every corner of the party room gets to hear the music. The clever feature about JBL Connect+, and its accompanying app, it how it can enable up to 100 other JBL speakers to be linked and playing in unison using Party Mode. Finally, there’s the JBL Connect button that offers more listening opportunities. Either side, there are volume controls as well as a multi-function button to skip a track or pause the music. Meanwhile, on top of the speaker, there’s a power switch and a Bluetooth pairing button next to each other. It takes up to five and a half hours to fully recharge the Charge 4’s battery, so a bit of forward planning is required if you want maximum playing time. There’s no Google Assist or Siri support on offer so if that’s something you need, the Charge 4 won’t be for you.Īt the front of the speaker, there is a row of five white LED lights to show how much power is left. The other omission is voice assistant compatibility. Unlike some other JBL speakers, the Charge 4 doesn’t function as a Bluetooth speakerphone, so if that’s important to you then you need to look elsewhere. If the party becomes exceptionally raucous then the speaker won’t even mind being submerged in the pool, as it really is waterproof.Īt the rear of the speaker there’s a waterproof rubber hatch that opens up to reveal a USB C port for charging the Charge 4’s battery, a USB A port for supplying power to a smartphone, and a 3.5mm stereo input so that analog sound sources, such as a digital music player, can be connected, if necessary. If you’re lucky enough to live in a climate where you can have your Christmas party next to a swimming pool, you’ll be glad to know that this speaker, with its durable fabric coat, is IPX7-rated waterproof so it’s not going to mind a few splashes of water or even a tropical downpour. It can also double as a smartphone charger so you can top up the power on your phone while playing music to the speaker. The JBL Charge 4 can play for up to 20 hours continuously on a full charge, which should be enough for even the most bacchanalian of revels. There is a hefty 30-Watts of power on offer here, all in a package that measures 22cm in length and about 9.5cm in across, with a frequency response ranging from 60Hz to 20kHz. The JBL Charge 4 is no exception and is probably the loudest battery-powered speaker I’ve heard that’s still portable enough to be popped in a rucksack. The Charge range of wireless speakers has been incredibly successful thanks to their clever tubular design, long battery life, and superbly fat bass. The JBL Charge 4 is the latest Charge model to come out of JBL’s laboratories. ![]() 7/27/2023 0 Comments Apple color computer 90s![]() The screen has been increased from 21.5 inches to 24 inches, and it is gorgeous. (Fortunately, Apple has a two-week no-questions-asked return or exchange policy.) I am unclear how widespread this problem is, but you should ask for a refund or exchange if you get a bum unit. This is a well-documented defect that has been chronicled on tech blogs. Like the original iMac, today’s model is more than a pretty face. Minimalists and cranky corporate buyers can get a non-colorized model - The M1 iMac also is available in an all-silver configuration. In the front of the computer, on the “chin” beneath the display, is a more-subdued shade matching the one in the rear. The back of its mounted panel sports one of several bold hues: blue, green, pink, yellow, orange and purple (the latter seemingly destined for the fans of the dearly departed Prince). However, the new model is dramatically lighter and thinner - and livelier. It consists of a flattened unit, incorporating the display and the computer innards, that is mounted on a metal stand. In a retro move with a modern twist, Apple has injected a bright spectrum into the newest version of its iMac - which was announced April 20 and released May 21 for $1,249 and up. But the colors are largely what made it popular, helping to rescue Apple from oblivion.Īnd then, abruptly, the bright hues vanished. The computer was in many ways a groundbreaking machine that popularized now-familiar USB ports, controversially eschewed a floppy-disk drive, and provided decent overall specs for the money. Ironically, Ozymandias’ statue bears a “wrinkled lip” and “sneer of cold command”, features that indicate a powerful and foreboding king, but the statue itself is falling apart. In lines 10-11 that the statue was once a monument to the ruler “Ozymandias, King of Kings.” Through a proclamation on the base of the pedestal Ozymandias once warned all who viewed this monument to “Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair! (Shelley 11).” The wonderful irony in line 12 comes when the speaker says, “Nothing beside remains, round the decay.” Even Ozymandias, in all his greatness, could not predict that his monument to self would fall to ruin leaving him to look the fool.Shelly’s main literary device in Ozymandias is his use of irony to emphasize the decay of political power at the hands of time. The description of the ruin and that of the man it represents is important because it serves as a set-up for the irony the poet introduces in line 12. This description becomes important when the poet introduces irony in the last few lines of the poem. Somehow it is clear to the speaker, or rather the “traveler from an antique land”, that the person this statue represented was a particularly callous individual. The poet addresses the question of whom this visage could belong to with two simple words, “cold command”. The speaker describes the bust lying in the desert having a “sneer of cold command.” This is a very deliberate use of alliteration by the poet in order to emphasize the fact that the visage was that of an irreverent man. ![]() Line 4 tells the reader that along with the “trunkless legs of stone” there lies a “a shattered visage.” The character of the individual whom the visage represents is affirmed through alliteration. The next line points out to the reader that the setting for the poem is “in the desert.” Having a sense of where and what it is the poet wishes the reader to see the speaker then goes on to describe the character of the individual this statue represents. ![]() One wouldn’t expect to see a structure consisting of legs alone, therefore it can be inferred by the reader that the structure being described is in fact a ruin. First, the speaker describes the ruin as “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone (Shelley 2).” Which gives the reader a sense of how big the ruin is, and explains that it is a ruin. Therefore, the poet must use strong imagery to give the reader the sense that they are actually there. The entire poem is a recollection of a description given to the speaker of a ruin in the desert. Imagery is an important element of “Ozymandias”. Finally, Shelley introduces a wonderfully ironic line that is reinforced by the other elements in the poem. Shelley then uses alliteration to describe the character of the person the ruin represents. Percy Bysshe Shelley use the elements of imagery and alliteration to first give the reader the sense of a “vast” ruin in the desert. ![]() The poem “Ozymandias” is a wonderful example of irony. ![]() 7/26/2023 0 Comments Defend your castle gun![]() ![]() If you have questions about self-defense laws in Texas, contact the Law Office of Matthew D. In addition, Texas’s self-defense laws can apply to the defense of others. Similarly, the use of deadly force in matters of self-defense is the legal right of Texans in some situations. In short, this is Texas’s “stand your ground” law. Generally speaking, the individual doesn’t need to retreat before using force in self-defense.
